FAQ

01

How much does the band charge?

We will be delighted to give you a quotation if you email us information such as: date, type of event, location, performing times, number of guests and your contact details. We normally ask for a 10% deposit. This gives you confidence that CotBF are committed to play at your event.

02

How long do you play for?

We typically play two 45 minute sets, starting 9.30 pm and ending at midnight.  Or we can play one 1.5 hour set if you want  to have a disco or other entertainment. As no two events are the same we are happy to adapt our playing times to suit you

03

How much room do you need?

Our minimum stage requirement is 5.5 metres wide by 3 metres deep. In all except very small venues we usually use a large mixing desk. For this we need an area 1.5 metres x 1 metre.

04

What access do you need?

We need unrestricted access in the 2 hours before your guests arrive and secure parking for our vehicles and trailers nearby. Please discuss this with us if this does not fit with your plans.

05

Do you provide your own PA and Lighting?

Yes, we provide our own lighting system and a PA (suitable for 200 - 300 people) at no extra charge.

06

What power supply do you need?

We need a minimum of three double 13A sockets in the stage area.

07

How long does it take for the band to set up?

For venues where we use our own sound and lighting equipment it takes 90 - 120 minutes from the time we arrive to be fully set up and sound checked.

08

Do you need changing facilities?

We would appreciate somewhere that is private to change. Please discuss this with us if it is a problem

09

Are you loud?

Since when was rock music ever quiet?  We do however play at an appropriate volume for those who want to dance, rather than those who want to sit and talk!

10

Do you do out door events?

Yes, we are happy to do outdoor or marquee events. Please be aware though that it is dangerous for our equipment to become damp. It is essential therefore that you ensure complete protection for the band and its equipment against bad weather, including condensation and driving rain. Please note that grass is not a suitable surface to put our equipment on - a raised stage is better. All electrical supplies must be fitted with residual current devices (RCDs). Also, it is surprising how far sound travels outside, so we suggest that you seek agreement of anyone who lives nearby before organising the event.

11

Can we make requests?

Yes, we are always keen to learn new numbers so if you have a particular song you would like that is not on the playlist, we will do our best to include it for your event. Please contact us with details at least four weeks in advance. If there is a song you do not want us to include then again, please let us know in advance.
